Creativity is the new currency of commerce, and Dallas Contemporary's nationally recognized Art Think program is helping students unleash their creativity, analytical skills, and imagination. Trained educators and art ambassadors bring turn-key art programs to public schools, private academies, and after-school programs where students learn to look at contemporary art, relate it to their own lives, and express their opinions through class discussions, drawing and journaling.

The goals of Art Think:


• Bring art into the lives of young people


• Create confidence in student's ability to comprehend


• Foster a desire to learn and take risks


• Encourage students to value their own ideas while listening & building on the ideas of others


• Increase writing skills


• Raise reading and math test scores

Each Art Think lesson consists of a group of images based on a common theme. The art presented for each lesson have been carefully selected to represent a diversity of artists and styles. Paired with each image, there are engaging writing and art making assignments. The final session of Art Think consists of a visit to Dallas Contemporary to explore the art on view.

Art Think is Dallas Contemporary’s educational focus ~ We offer our off-site program and field trips throughout the school year and summer that engages even the youngest students in Art Think.
