New Art in Austin introduces 22 of Austin's hottest emerging artists who stretch the boundaries of contemporary art.
Director Joan Davidow joined a statewide curatorial team to select the 22 artists who work in imaginative media ~ embroidery, electronics, Post-it notes, comic books, felt, vinyl lettering, postcards and Astroturf.
Mix! artist Brandon Gonzalez creates text ridden clothes and photographs that communicate stories and family photographs.
Hallworks artist Stefan Chinov makes elegantly free-formed, wall-hung boxes.
3 D on Swiss artist Jessica Halonen erects compacted Texas dirt columns topped with sod, plants and trees.
