renaissance programme

The Renaissance Programme targets emerging museum professionals who want to develop their knowledge in a supportive and creative environment. The Renaissance Programme is geared towards developing an interdisciplinary approach to museum practice. Interns will collaborate with exhibitions, education, development and event departments from planning to project completion during the 6 month to year-long internship.

Development:
The intern will assist with fundraising for projects by researching grant possibilities and identifying corporate sponsors, creating proposal packages, and assisting with writing a proposal.

Exhibitions and Public Relations:
The intern will assist with the logistics of organizing a project. The intern will help coordinate the exhibition calendar and assist with communication. The intern will help with monitoring costs to insure all expenses are within budget. They will assist with drafting media advisories, press releases, newsletters and other PR materials. They will coordinate distribution and media outreach.

Learning programs:
The intern will assist with creating learning programs and coordinating learning experiences associated with the project. This will include organizing a Chit Chat at Dallas Contemporary and off-site. They will develop curricula with the Education manager to enhance our outreach programming, assist with on-site programming including Kids Studio, and help create interactive programs such as Qyoo or SCVNGR.

Events:
The Renaissance intern will assist with event planning for fundraising and membership associated with the project. They will assist events with opening reception and any other exhibition related events.

Structured learning experience for interns:
Through studio visits and talks with artists, Renaissance interns will gain access to working artists from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines.

Partnering with a major local University, Renaissance interns will attend monthly workshops to engage the theoretical and critical study of contemporary art and culture. Interns will meet weekly with the director.
