title 1 bus fund

free bus transportation for school tours is available for k - 12 schools designated as title 1! dallas contemporary’s title 1 bus fund provides free transportation to the museum for school groups throughout the academic year, serving up to 3,000 underprivileged students in total. unlike other museums in the area, which simply reimburse schools for busing costs, dc manages each group’s transportation first-hand, thereby relieving the financial + administrative burdens experienced by the field trip supervisor. 

bus transportation relief is available on a first-come, first-served basis. all requests must be made 3 – 4 weeks in advance of your preferred visit date. teachers please note that title I school sponsored transportation is limited to one bus per year.funding is limited + subject to availability.

our educators have carefully recrafted past school tour plans into unique art experiences for the classroom setting. by combining high quality images of contemporary artwork, inquiry-based learning + discussion tactics, + engaging art activities everyone will be able to experience dallas contemporary right in their classroom, or virtual chatroom.
