Second ("Third") Sundays at DC: Freeform Collage Workshop

Second (“Third”) Sundays at DC: Freeform Collage Workshop
Sunday, April 19, 2026
11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
161 Glass St. Dallas
Free Admission

Celebrate Dallas Art Week at Dallas Contemporary with a special freeform collage workshop inspired by our newly opening exhibition, Francisco Moreno: Historia Sintética.

Unlike our traditional Second Sundays programs, this workshop is designed as a self-guided, come-and-go creative space. Visitors are invited to drop in anytime during museum hours to experiment with collage and image-making at their own pace. Materials will be provided, though guests are welcome to bring their own magazines, photographs, or paper materials to incorporate into their work.

The activity draws inspiration from Francisco Moreno’s layered visual language. In his practice, Moreno blends references to art history, religious iconography, and Mexican symbolism with science fiction, surreal imagery, and invented narratives. His work collides these visual traditions to question power, heritage, and the ways stories are constructed and remembered.

Participants are encouraged to take a similar approach in their collages—combining imagery, symbols, and fragments to create new visual narratives.

Drop in anytime between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
No prior experience is required, and all ages are welcome.
